I'm Convinced
Here's a video clip of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D. Texas), explaining the position of the world's oldest political party in the course of yesterday's debate of House Resolution 861. While viewing the clip, keep in mind that members of Congress don't just stand up and talk, they're allotted time to do so by the leadership of their party. Thus, what Ms. Lee has to say represents the position of her party, and its leadership. Please also note that this particular video clip was posted online by Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi.
So. Here's what the Democrats will do with respect to the War on Terror, and the War in Iraq, should they come to power:

Yes, I KNOW that the video is out of synch with the audio. It's that way in the original clip, obtained from Ms. Pelosi.
Another example of Democrat competence, I guess.
crazy dems. what are they thinking?
That seems to be the question. Has anyone an answer?
...something along the lines of "man, we love hating freedom."
Sheila Jackson-Lee just loves the sound of her own voice. I don't take her that seriously.
To say she is not a serious person is a reasonible thing to say:
Ms. Jackson Lee is not a serious person;
Nancy Pelosi treats Ms. Jackson Lee as if she were a serious person;
Ms. Pelosi is the leader of the Democratic Party in the Congress of the United States;
The Democratic Party treats people who are not serious as if they were serious.
your assumption is faulty (ask son #1 - he just finished up about 6 months of studying improper assumptions)
Pelosi, though she is the selected leader of the Dems in the House, does not represent the entirety of the Democratic party (e.g. the Senate Dems, the DNC, the DCCC, registered democrats)
That is certainly a very useful concept: The leader elected by the most broadly based group of popularly elected Democrats does not represent the Democratic party.
Ken Lay never thought of taking that approach. No, wait: Actually he did, but no one was dumb enough to buy it.
sure she represents the democratic party. so does every elected democrat, so do i because i voted democrat. pelosi obviously has a bigger say in the party than i do, but that doesn't mean that she speaks for me...or for the senate, or the DCCC, or bill clinton, or all the other registered democrats out there.
that is the equivalent of saying that george w. bush "is" america, because the widest coalition of americans "elected" him in 2000. he's no more america than nancy pelosi is the democratic party.
it isn't true to say that "the Democratic Party treats people who are not serious as if they were serious." perhaps some of them do, but you can't put it on all democrats.
