Drugs might explain it

Over at Right Wing News they stumbled across a children's book "Why Mommy is a Democrat." Quick research didn't reveal much about the contents, and speculation rather got the better of them, both HERE and HERE.

Wizbang was all over this at the beginning of December (in time for Christmas!) and acquired some text and illustrations, HERE.

For example: "Democrats make sure we are always safe, just like Mommy does." Like that committee Mommy set up to study the root causes of the behavior of that kid who beats you up on the playground.

Or, "Democrats make sure we all share our toys, just like Mommy does." Well, Hell, in Mommy's house, Mommy took everybody else's toys, and claims they all belong to her now, so I guess we're all sharing.

I think it's a hoax. The selection of mommy, rather than daddy, to represent the inventors of the Nanny State, and the fact that Mommy is a squirrel, is rather suggestive. And the text stimulates the snarky punchlines to write themselves. They simply can't be serious.

But I have the same reaction to Howard Dean.

Via a trail that started at relapsed catholic.

[UPDATE] HERE is the website which purports to be selling this book. It includes information about the author, testimonials and the like. Take a look for yourself, but I still can't tell if they're serious. They can't possibly be for real, can they? I mean: ". . . with a message even a child can understand"? Complete the joke yourself. I refuse to believe it.
