Of course, that cartoon probably gives more credit to television news historically than it deserves. We'd like to remember Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite as wise oracles of journalism, but in retrospect this seems less the case than we'd like to think, at least in the case of Cronkite.

This isn't to say that the current tv news isn't completely worthless. It is. But Katie can hardly make it less serious than it already is. Heck, maybe she can translate the focus into something serious.
