While the editors of the Spokane Spokesman-Review seem to pass this off as an amusing optical illusion, we're not so sure. After all, who says that the only way it might announce its hegemony is for Skynet to rain down nuclear missiles? You hadn't thought of that, had you?

post a commentActually, the City officials are saying that this is a light "malfunction" and that vandalism "is not suspected". You can take that for whatever it's worth. Interestingly, the S-R seems to have put this on their website only and not in the print edition. That would suggest that they think that the picture is not suitable for adults.
