Beasty Boys

I am on record as predicting that, within the lifetimes of my sons, pedophilia will be seen not as dangerous deviant behavior, and certainly not as a matter for the criminal law, but instead simply one lifestyle choice among the many that might be selected from the great buffet table of life.

As we enter the mopping-up stages of the decades-long campaign to normalize homosexuality, social deconstructionists must search for a new cause with which to scandalize the squares and startle the horses. Snickering at the normals is mandatory. (Homosexuals call the rest of us "breeders." What contemptuous term do you suppose will be used by those who prefer little girls? May we look forward to an Oscar nomination for "Boys in the Sand (Box)?")

My prediction remains firm, but I must confess that this story gave me pause, suggesting keen competition between pedophilia and bestiality:
COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Denmark's Council for Animal Ethics said on Thursday there was no need to ban sex with animals unless it took place in pornographic films or sex shows.

Only one of the 10 members of the council, set up by the Danish Justice Ministry to establish and uphold animal ethics, wants bestiality expressly forbidden.

The others said current laws provided enough animal protection, according to Danish news agency Ritzau.

A senior member of the right wing Danish People's Party was shocked by the recommendation and said the subject should be put to a referendum.

"Then there wouldn't be any doubt about the result," Christian Hansen said. A Justice Ministry spokesman was not available for comment.
While one may wonder what qualifies as "right wing" in Denmark, it must also be asked why, if sex between man and armadillo is itself unexceptionable, the filming thereof should nonetheless be a stumbling block. We suggest, only partially in jest, that commercial exploitation of the affectionate sheep may be the issue.

whoa, whoa, whoa.

let us be at least moderately objective here. everybody knows the national animal of Denmark is not the Sheep, but the Squirrel.

sex with one's country's national animal should be legal. man-on-beast pairings I would like to see:

1. Wales (Red Dragon)
2. (tie) Bangladesh/India (Bengal Tiger)
3. (tie) Singapore/Sri Lanka/Netherlands/England (Lion)
4. Argentina (Puma)
5. Estonia (Barn Swallow, these jokes write themselves)
6. (tie) Finland/Russia (Bear)
7. Scotland (Unicorn)

I'm not surprised at all.

Several years back I predicted to all who would care to listen that polygamy would soon become legal, and effectively already is legal, in the US. After all, if the US Supreme Court has determined that states can't regulate who does what with whom in the bedroom, than it had to become the case that a man could marry one woman, and live with 20.

Or not marry any at all.

We're effectively there now.

Once you get there, then it's a simple step to imagining that homosexuals are denied right by "not being allowed to marry". It does no good, in this atmosphere, to point out that they have the same marriage rights as anyone else, that being to marry somebody of the opposite sex. They'll argue, instead, that a fair and just society requires everyone to acknowledge their right to marry any other adult they want, sex being irrelevant.

Of course, if that's true, why shouldn't they be able to marry sheep. If plumbing is irrelevant, why not species? Is this insanse arena, there's no good argument.

Takinig that into account, the really weird part of the Danish argument is the part about pornography. Of course pornography with animals included is vile. Regular pornography is as well, and the requirement that everyone ignore that there are two sexes, male and female, and traditional marriage serves a specific purposes, is also vile. But if we get past all that, and we have, then what's up with the pornography concern? Whose being protected, the sheep?
